Search And Rescue Volunteers Offer Critically Important Backcountry Service

Every year in the Cyprus mountains adventurers find some kind of trouble. Some get hurt while others wander a little bit too far off the beaten path and get lost. Some are properly prepared. Many are not.

The job of finding the lost and the wounded and bringing them back to safety usually falls on the fire brigade and police but most of the time with the assistance of a small group of volunteers from Search and Rescue teams.

And every year they are called out scores of times to help with all kinds of emergencies and situations.
