My name is Alexandros Leontiades and I am 18 years old from Cyprus.
As a kid I was always adventurous and enjoyed a challenge. I have been climbing for 3 years now and i love it. Climbing requires hard work and self discipline, whilst giving me the opportunity to relax my mind, meet new people and make good friends.
Ever since I started, I have been competing in various competitions.
In 2017 I competed in the national Scottish youth championships, receiving 6th place in the speed climbing category.
In 2018 I competed in the Cyprus national competition and I received 1st place in the under 18 category
In 2018 I competed in the Cyprus national competition and I received the 2nd place in the men’s category.
In 2019 I managed to be placed 1st in the men’s category.
I will continue to climb while I am studying in the UK, as it has become an important part of my life, and makes me happy.
Christodoula Evagorou
Indoor Climbing Champion
Christodoula Evagorou started climbing in 2009.
She started competing from the beginning and she continued up to 2015 witch she become a mother.
Her best result was in the European speed climbing cup in 2010 she managed to finish 3rd.She won the Cyprus climbing championships in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
She still holds the speed climbing record.

Born in 2008
I have started climbing two years ago when the president of the climbing federation Mr Pavlos Georgiades suggested to me to try it because he believed that I could be good in climbing and that I will like it. He was right!!!!
I started gymnastics at a very early age 5 years old and I thought that I would stay for ever but when I discover climbing everything else didn’t mutter.
I love climbing its challenging, interesting and very rewarding.
I won the climbing championship of my age group in 2017 and 2018
I won the CYPRUS ICAS climbing competition in 2019
And i also finish in the 4th place in speed climbing at the 2019 Scottish championships
Represented Cyprus national team in Scotland youth games in 2019 and I got the 16th place out of 36 climbers.
Just love to climb!!!!
Phivos Evangelou
Indoor Climbing Champion
Phivos was born in 2005 in Cyprus
He started climbing in an early age of 6 years old.
Because he loved the sport and due to his curiousness, he trained 3 to 4 times a week.
His learned bouldering at private gym near by and then joined the federation and started training at the federations climbing centre witch he climb a 6+ difficulty and became good in top robe and speed climbing too very quickly.
Following his father, he also started climbing rocks in Cyprus and at the dolomites in Italy, Chamonix and in Kalymnos in Greece. He managed to climb 5c, 6a and 6b
Phivos has enter national competitions and he became a champion in his age group and not only.

Climbing in a matter of some words, can be described by the overtaking feeling of adrenaline. The surge of emotions that fills you up the moment you reach the top of a difficult route is something that cannot be described. It engulfs you. Your one and only thought is reaching the highest point. I have had the opportunity to learn about this sport four years ago at the age of ten and I have loved it ever since.
I have taken part in a number of competitions starting in 2017, including one in Scotland that same year. I have received the Pancyprian 1st place in 2017 and 2018 in both the women’s and my own age-group – individual and overall category.
However, what I would call my proudest accomplishment is my results in the ICAS Cyprus World Amateur Sport Games 2019. Not only did I manage to come 1st in my own age-group category but I also received the highest score in all women and 3rd in both men and women – despite not being able to compete in any other age group besides my own.
What keeps me going, however, is not only my absolute infatuation with the sport, but how inclusive the community is. Competitions can be challenging and anxiety-inducing for everyone, but the love and understanding the other climbers show puts everything at ease. Age is not a factor when it comes to the bond, we have between us.
All in all, I would say that climbing comes down to six things: technique, strength, endurance, speed, mind and the most important of all – support. It might not be easy but it sure is worth it.
Skevi Chrysou Tofaridou

Skevi Chrysou Tofaridou has a huge background in sports.
She was a gymnast as a child and has actively continued in sports ever since. I first met climbing back in 2006! I felt in love instantly with climbing, its just you, your mind, body and spirit all in one, listening to your breath, feeling the energy from the rock, feeling the air blowing all over you, you just become one with the rock, and just climb! Its a meditation on the rocks... I have participated in indoor speed climbing, in 2013 and i got the 3rd place
Now i am a Yoga, AcroYoga, Yin Yoga and SUP Yoga Teacher based in Nicosia!
Her journey with Yoga started in 2008 when she discovered AcroYoga. Her background in gynmastics was a perfect fit for this community building fun practice and her passion for it drew her to learn how to teach.
She completed her 200hrs YogaWorks Teacher Training in 2016, Yin YogaWise 30hrs, and since then she has been teaching and kept on studying. She has taken one AY Elemental Immersion in Cyprus 2016 and two AY Solar Immersions in Greece and the UK.
Present she is a Certified AcroYoga TT level 1 & AcroFit trainer since August 2018, and the Jambassador of AYI in Cyprus and SUP Yoga 25hrs TT
Stephanos Papadopoulos
Indoor Climbing Champion
Born in 1991
Stephanos took his first steps in climbing (indoor) at the age of 13 at ″Golden Gym″ in Nicosia. He had great potential from the start and he managed to get amazing results in competitions and later on the rocks.

- In June of 2013 he won the national leading competition of Komoaap
- In December of 2018 he won the national bouldering competition of Komoaap
- In February of 2019 he won again the national leading competition of Komoaap
He continues taking part in our national competitions and we wish him success in international events too.
Markoullis Stephanos

Born in 1984 and living in Limassol.
I started rock climbing in 2007 but entered my first competition in 2012 and due to this I believe that helped me to improve my rock climbing abilities.
